Leyden 5, Morton 0: The Eagles' senior ace Morgan Maize struck out 10 to power No. 18 Leyden (21-6).
Antioch 6, Grant 4: Kaylene Wrestler smashed a two-run home run and Jessica Pederson hit a triple and drove in two runs. Wining pitcher Katie Phillips struck out three and also added a double for the Sequoits (18-12).
Glenbard West 6, Downers North 5: Meghan Johnson starred in front of and behind the plate to lead the upset of No. 6 Downers North. She drove in four runs with three hits, including a double, and struck out four in running her mark to 3-3. Maddie Morris also drove in a run for the Hilltoppers (17-9, 8-1 West Suburban Silver).
Warren 10, Lake Forest 0: Megan Sowa celebrated her 17th birthday in grand style. The Blue Devils' slugger smacked a grand slam and a double as she drove in six runs to lead Warren (26-4-1, 14-1 North Suburban Lake). Starting pitcher Jessica Demski struck out two and scattered six hits in six innings of work.
