Richards 7, Tinley Park 1: No. 3 Richards (7-0) got strong offensive performances from several players: Brianna LeBeau was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI; Hannah Jenkins was 2-for-4 with one RBI; and Nicole Ellement was 3-for-4.
Andrew 10, Marian Catholic 2: Brooke Hoffer (2-0) gave up two hits in six innings pitched for No. 4 Andrew. Kelly Christian was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, and Shannon Rust was 3-for-4 with three runs scored.
Benet 10, York 0, 5 inn.: Maeze McGuire triggered the No.5 Redwings’ rout of York with two home runs, three RBI and three runs. Emily York also enjoyed a stellar showing at the plate with a 3-for-3, three-RBI effort.
Evergreen Park 2, Oak Forest 1: Michelle Putlak (6-0) had six strikeouts in the win for Evergreen Park (6-0, 5-0 South Suburban Red). Tori Senerchia was 1-for-4 with one RBI.
Kennedy 19, Curie 2: Nicole Radtke (2-0) struck out five in the win for Kennedy (2-0). Selina Lopez was 1-for-1 with three RBI.
King 13, Longwood 4: Stacy Embry struck out seven while giving up just one hit to guide King (5-1-1). Kendall Harris was 3-for-3 with two home runs and six RBI.
Lake Park 7, WW South 5: Kelly O’Neill (3-for-4, two RBI, three runs) just missed the cycle with a home run, triple and double to power Lake Park (1-1) past the Tigers. Stephanie Starr also starred offensively with a homer, double and three RBI Lane 2, Evanston 0: Kaleigh Ambrose had seven strikeouts and gave up two hits in the complete game shut out for Lane (3-1). Desiree Velazques and Jessica Szyska (2-for-3) provided the team's two RBI. Lindblom 13, Bogan 2: Mikela Dockery went 3-for-3 with a triple and double as Lindblom won its season opener. Dockery was equally effective in the pitcher’s circle with seven punchouts to notch the win. Northside Prep 9, Von Steuben 8: Abby Miller struck out seven in a complete game for Northside Prep. Sarah Parks was 2-for-3 with three RBI, including the game-winning RBI. Plainfield Central 12, St. Charles North 2: Karly Jackson had a home run and two RBI, while Carley Baker and Dominique Roa added two RBI each, as well, for Plainfield Central (5-0). Providence 11, Lincoln-Way Central 5: Allie Strick (2-0) had two strikeouts in four innings pithced to go along with one home run to lead Providence (2-2). Morgan Greenwood was 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, and Courtney Pych was 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs scored. Reavis 19, T.F. North 3: Jamie Harcar (2-1) struck out nine and gave up two hits in five innings pitched for Reavis (2-5). Yasmine Ballout was 1-for-2 with three RBI. St. Francis 17, Maria 6: Michelle Barajas erupted for St. Francis, going 5-for-5 with one home run to lead the charge for St. Francis (3-1). St. Ignatius 16, Regina 1: Michaela Mackey was 4-for-4 with three runs and two RBI, and Maura Lynch was 3-for-4 with three doubles and three RBI to spark the offense for St. Ignatius (6-2). Streamwood 3, Wheeling 0: Kelle Lunquest gave up two hits in five innings to pick up the win for Streamwood (3-1). Brittany Delaw and Natalie Filippio had one RBI each. West Chicago 2-2, Batavia 0-7: Tara Rayos struck out five in the win for West Chicago (4-1).
Lemont 13, Eisenhower 2: Lauren Young put together a no-hit, seven stikeout outing in five innings pitched for Lemont (6-1, 4-1 South Suburban). Rylie Jay and Carly Jaworski added three RBI each.
St. Scholastica 18, Seton Academy 1: Kelly Mercurio picked up the win for St. Scholastica (4-3, 3-2 GCAC White) with five strike outs, two hits and one run surrendered in five innings. Mercy Garriga was 3-for-3 with three RBI, and Nicole Mercurio was 3-for-3 with four RBI.
Thornwood 22, Rich South 0: Shantel Dennis was 3-for-4 with four RBI, and Brittany Matthews had two RBI for Thornwood in the rout.
