FIRST TEAM
Meghan Haggerty (Co-Player of Year) — Benet, middle hitter, 6-3 senior. Will attend Wisconsin
Jenna Jendryk (Co-Player of Year) — Benet, right-side hitter, 6-0 senior. Will attend Virginia Tech
Alysia Baznik — Naperville Central, setter/outside hitter, 5-11 junior. Season: 231 kills, 455 assists, led team in both; 100 digs, 44 aces.
Naperville Central coach Brie Isaacson says: “The more we have Alysia involved in the play, the better the outcome. When she’s not setting she’s a back row attacker. She brings so much to the floor besides playing ability — confidence, excitement, passion, court awareness and an understanding of the game.”
Jesscia Boddy — Metea Valley, middle hitter, 6-3 senior. Season: 287 kills, 56 solo blocks, led team in both
Metea Valley coach James Milkert says: “She’s been our go-to player since the program started. Her teammates have relied on her for the big play, especially in crucial situations. Jessica knows the game and she’s a tremendous player at the net. She’ll be outstanding at the next level.”
Will attend: Pitt.
Ashley Crawford — Naperville North, outside hitter, 5-9 senior. Season: Led team with 243 kills She also had 41 aces and 219 digs.
Naperville North coach Jen Urban says: “A team captain, Ashley is a well-respected leader on and off the court. She brings a lot of energy and excitement and she plays in six rotations. When we needed a point in a big match Ashley would often get set. She was also one of our primary passers and one of our top diggers.”
College: Undecided
Callie Huebener — Neuqua Valley, outside hitter, 6-0 senior. Season: Led team with 211 kills, 311 digs with and 50 aces.
Neuqua Valley coach Kelly Simon says: Callie is a great all-around player. She is our go-to hitter, puts up a huge block, plus she’s a primary passer and dig leader. And her jump-serve has been a weapon for us. Callie has improved so much and she’ll be even better in college. Her potential is endless.”
Will attend DePaul
Colleen Larson — Naperville North, libero, 5-7 junior. Season: 355 digs, 2.33 passing, team leader in both.
Coach Jen Urban says: “Colleen had a breakout season leading our team in passing and defense. She was our most consistent player all year. She was voted MVP by her teammates. She’s rock-solid in every category and we expect her to be one of the top liberos in the state next year.”
