Young 77, South Shore (N.Y.) 28: Janee Thompson (25 points, 10 assists). Linnae Harper (22 points, 14 rebounds), and Alexis Lloyd (19 points) helped lead No.1 Young (2-0) to victory in the Big Apple.
NONCONFERENCE
Marist 70, Lincoln Park 40: Leah Bolton exploded for 31 points as the No. 6 RedHawks (8-0) cruised past the Lions. Claire Ryan (16 points) and JeTaun Rose (14 points) also contributed offensively.
St. Joseph 46, Joliet Catholic 45: Briya Wilborn put up 16 points and hit the game-winning shot to put No.23 St. Joseph (6-1, 1-0 East Suburban Catholic) over the top against Joliet Catholic. Donna Koerber added 19 points and seven rebounds.
Andrew 53, Sandburg 43: Nicole Botich scored 18 points to lead a balanced Thunderbolts’ attack. Tiana Karopulos contributed 14 points while Liz Jendra and Catherine Foley each scored 10 points for Andrew (3-1).
Aurora Christian 39, Chicago 30: Alyssa Henzel finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Bartlett 63, Metea Valley 46: Janessa Baker totaled 20 pts with five assists and Haley Videckis scored 14 pts, dished out three assists and had three steals for undefeated Bartlett (8-0).
Beecher 50, Providence-St. Mel 26: Amari Griffin turned in a solid all-around effort with 15 points, four rebounds and four steals for Beecher. Ashley Carroll added 12 points and four rebounds while Paige Wehling had 10 points.
Elk Grove 56, Glenbrook North 46: Elk Grove (4-3) was led by Kelly Naughton (21 points, four rebounds, seven assists) and Diamond Boyd (19 points, eight rebounds).
IMSA 36, Fenton 35: Seneca Hutson's 12 points helped IMSA narrowly take down Fenton.
Latin 65, Brooks 58: Jen Costa scored 17 points with Nikki Dizon totaling 15 points, seven rebouns and four assists to lead Latin to an 8-0 start to the year.
Lincoln-Way Central 52, Bloomington 37: Kayla Pope had nine points and teammate Kelsie Foster had eight to lead the offese.
Loyola 42, Benet 38: Anna Schueler's 12 points helped puy Loyola (5-1) over the top in their narrow win over Benet.
Mother McAuley 58, Crane 38: The Mighty Macs (4-4) improved to .500 on the season as Sharon Frigo scored 12 points.
Plainfield East 46, Oswego 42: Dominique Hartsfield’s 13 points paced the way for Plainfield East. Chantise Adams (11 points), Deni Owikoti (10 rebounds, three blocks) and Faith Suggs (four rebounds, three blocks) also played well for the Bengals.
Queen of Peace 45, Regina 40: Nora O’Malley's 13 points and six boards helped Queen Of Peace (1-6, 1-0 GCAC Red) edge out Regina.
St. Edward 63, Rosary 46: Carrie Johnson (17 points, five steals), Alex Lee (14 points, 14 rebounds) and Maddie Kerr (14 points) ignited St. Edward (6-2, 1-1 Suburban Christian Blue).
St. Ignatius 40, Streamwood 32: Kelly Nickele put up 11 points and Gena Lenti put up nine for St. Ignatius (5-3).
Trinity 76, Resurrection 32: Megan Podkowa (20 points, seven rebounds), Mikayla Leyden (11 points) and Alyssa Dangler (11 points) led Trinity (3-0, 1-0 GCAC Red).
West Chicago 66, Naperville North 61 OT: West Chicago (5-2, 2-0 DuPage Valley) was led by Laura Pamacali, who had 20 points to go with 12 boards in the overtime victory.
