Brad White (Marmion Senior Goalkeeper) – Historic fourth-place 2A state finish for Marmion can be attributed in part to phenomenal PK save with 7:28 left in regulation of SuperSectional triumph. Four-year starter is only Beacon-News area keeper earning Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association notice as All-Section 3 plus repeat All-SCC pick with seven solo shutouts plus two additional shared “clean sheets” during 19-8-3 campaign.
Jorge Alvarez (Oswego East Senior Forward) – Statistically best-ever OEHS player leaves with career records for points (157), goals (62), and assists (31) plus single-season hallmarks – all set in 2011 -- for points (84), goals (34) and set-ups (16). IHSSCA All-State pick for 2011 after consecutive All-Section 10 awards plus third All-SPC honor for 14-4-3 Wolves.
Mike Frasca (Marmion Senior Midfielder) – Scoring machine behind Cadets’ history-making finale for coach Kevin O’Connor with team highs for points (77) and goals (30, accompanied by 17 assists). Two-time IHSSCA All-Section 3 choice and repeat All-Suburban Christian Conference pick led B-N area as a junior for points (56 from 22g/12a).
Abraham Kanneh (East Aurora Junior Midfielder) -- One of only eight juniors named to 60-member IHSSCA All-State squad has helped spring (15-5-53) Tomcats into Top 10 program status. Two-time All-Section 3, All-Upstate Eight Conference and Pepsi Showdown All-Tournament pick had squad-high four match-winners as part of 25-point year (10g/5a) for back-to-back UEC Valley Division champs.
Matt Koth (West Aurora Senior Defender) --- Clearly Blackhawks’ best player in any third of field and played them all as needed. Area’s most overlooked talent. Lock-down defender led West in points (35), goals (12) and assists (11) to earn IHSSCA All-Section 3, unanimous All-DuPage Valley Conference, Chicago Fire Academic All-State Second-Team plus Academic All-DVC recognition.
Mick Maley (Marmion Senior Defender) – Headlines All-Area squad as Player of Year. IHSSCA All-Stater whose all-around play propelled Marmion to fourth-place 2A state finish. Twice IHSSCA All-Section 6 and three-time All-SCC pick had eye-popping numbers for a senior defender-midfielder with 63 points from 23 goals (eight match-winners) and 17 assists.
Juan Luis Perez (East Aurora Senior Defender) – Last two years have seen Tomcats rise to Top 10 status, claim first back-to-back conference banners, and earn school’s highest post-season seeds based on defensive foundation. Two-year tally of 20 shutouts produced by four keepers but anchored by same defender – two-time All-Section 3 and All-UEC honoree.
Anthony Torres (Batavia Senior Defender-Midfielder) --- IHSSCA All-State recognition reflects hustle that led to being team MVP for 16-6-2 Bulldogs and All-UEC for (4-0-2) River Division champs. Ended year with 29 points (8g/13a) and as one of five from Batavia on Chicago Fire All-Academic Honorable Mention unit.
Cody Witkowski (Batavia Senior Forward) – Another IHSSCA All-State pick who capped second straight year as Bulldog leader for points (49 in 2011 / 31 in 2010) and goals (18 in 2011 / 11 in 2010). Vision and touch put atop dangerous Batavia attack and consecutive All-UEC recognition.
Tyler Yanisch (Waubonsie Valley Senior Midfielder) – Experience and leadership that has carried consecutive youth-dominated Warrior teams that have come on strong late in season. IHSSCA All-Section 3 honoree and team MVP with consecutive All-UEC accolades. Topped team in points (24), goals (nine) and assists (six).
