Proviso East is the clear favorite in the Proviso West Holiday Tournament and No. 12 Homewood-Flossmoor could be be waiting for the No. 4 Pirates in the title game, according to the pairings released on Monday.

“We’re extremely happy to be back at the Proviso West Tournament,” Homewood-Flossmoor coach Jim McLaughlin said. “We are lucky to have a lot of guys back that have played a lot of minutes in the tournament before.”

The highly-regarded tournament doesn’t contain the star power it has in the past. But the excitement of a Proviso district school coming in as the favorite should help create some buzz for the tournament.

Action tips off on Dec. 27 and continues through Dec. 30.
