Brother Rice’s Koziol transferring

Ryan Koziol, a three-year varsity starter on Brother Rice’s baseball team, will transfer to another school his senior year.
“Ryan’s dad (Ed) told me that Ryan was going to be leaving Brother Rice and pursuing other options to attend high school in Arizona,” Brother Rice president Dr. Kevin Burns said. “We regret not only losing Ryan, but his dad, who was a member of our coaching staff, and his mother, Susan, who was our school nurse. We would have loved to have seen Ryan remain here.”
Koziol, a shortstop, hit .431 with seven doubles, three home runs, 19 runs and 19 RBI this season.
On the mound, he finished 4-3 with a 3.13 ERA.
He has already verbally committed to the University of Arizona.
Ryan’s brother Kevin graduated from Rice in 2010 after a stellar four-year varsity career. He went to Louisiana State University on a baseball scholarship but was removed from the team his freshman year and was taking classes in 2011 at Moraine Valley Community College.
