Mount Carmel 6, Marist 1: Jason Gasser went six innings gaving up a run and two hits in the win. Jerry Houston was 4-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored while Joe Kennedy was 1-for-2 with a double for No. 6 Mount Carmel.
Addison Trail 4, Morton 2: Scott Babica was 2-for-3 with a homer and RBI for Addison Trail (20-11).
Antioch 2, Wauconda 0: Jerry LaSaint allowed no runs on two hits while striking out five in the win for Antioch.
Brother Rice 8, Montini 2: Mike Reilly smacked a two-run homer and drove in three runs. Jack Miller (3-1) went five innings to pick up the win for Brother Rice (19-13).
De La Salle 5, Hersey 1: Pat Haynes pitched a complete game and also lifted a two-run homer. Kevin Malec was 2-for-3 with a run scored for De La Salle (22-10).
Downers North 4, Hinsdale Central 3: David Wilk tossed a complete game and smashed the game-winning homer to cap off a mammoth performance for Downers North (17-13).
Glenbard South 2, Illiana Christian 1, 9 inn: Mitch Gasbarro hit the game-winning homer and Zack Bava knocked in a run for Glenbard South.
Glenbard West 13, Downers South 8: Tyler Dayton allowed no runs in four 1/3 innings pitched while Spencer Refer went 3-for-3 to help lift the Glenbard West offense.
Lake Park, Waubonsie Valley 0: Christian Taugner struck out six in a complete-game win and John Schram was 2-for-3 with a double, triple and two RBI for Lake Park (19-13, 14-9 Upstate Eight).
Lemont 11, Coal City 1: Mike Papierski was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI while Alex Broskovitz was 2-for-2 with a triple, double and three RBI for Lemont.
Maine South 3, Jacobs 2: Rocky Saavedra (6-0) gave up one earned run and struck out eight en route to a complete game. Nick Mitrovich was 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI for Maine South (26-4).
Minooka 1, Plainfield Central 0: Josh Jimenez allowed just three hits while striking out nine in a complete-game shutout for Minooka.
Morgan Park Acadmy 15, Parker 5: Tony Szafarczyk cranked a grand slam and added another RBI to total five on the evening for Morgan Academy (2-15).
Naperville North 4, Glenbard North 3: Mariano Long gave up three hits and struck out eight in the win for Naperville North.
North Shore 13, U-High 6: Michael Jahaaris was 3-for-4 with three RBI and Ian Meyer was 2-for-5 with three RBI for North Shore (13-2).
Oak Lawn 10, Argo 0: Pitcher of record Matt Dunn went five innings and gave up three hits while Alec Barnhart was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base for Oak Lawn (20-10, 14-4 South Suburban Red).
Rich East 12, Rich South 2: Jason Douglas struck out six in three innings to pick up the win. Nick Pates was 4-for-4 with four doubles, four RBI and three runs scored to fuel the Rockets (12-14, 8-5 Southland).
Shepard 11, Eisenhower 1: Nick Medlicott allowed only one hit and struck out 10 in a complete-game win for Shepard (17-13). Adam Smadd was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBI.
Stagg 12, Thornwood 4: Vito Cali threw a complete game and Matt Klimasz blasted a two-run home run for Stagg (15-17, 7-6 SouthWest Suburban Red).
PUBLIC LEAGUE PLAYOFFS
Simeon 10, Kennedy 1: Terrance Robertson (6-2) gave up three hits and struck out 13 to earn the win for Simeon (24-7). Ro Coleman was 3-for-5 with a triple and RBI while Sharoid Roach added a three-run double in the win.
Morgan Park 8, Lake View 3: Thomas Clay was 3-for-3 with two RBI and Reginald Rogers was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Morgan Park (24-8). Rahman Williams (5-0) struck out five to earn the win.
Harlan 5, Payton 4: Tyler Johnson was 2-for-4 with two doubles and the game-winning RBI for Harlan.
Von Steuben 10, Young 7: Andres Montenegro was 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI. Joe Plaud picked up the save.
