Mount Carmel 13, Payton 3, 6 inn.: The No. 1 Caravan were powered on offense by Sam Kint (4-for-4, two RBI) and Beau Filkins (2-for-3, double, triple, RBI) while winning pitcher Jeremy Kravetz threw five innings, allowing three runs and six hits while striking out six.
St. Laurence 5, De Sales (Ky.) 3: The No. 2 Vikings (15-1) were led by Joe Siebenaler as he earned the win on the mound, going three innings, allowing no hits and striking out four, while also going 2-for-2 at the plate with a home run, double and three RBI.
Providence 2, Lincoln-Way Central 0: The No. 5 Celtics (11-3) got superb pitching performances from winning pitcher David Hearne (2-0, 5 IP, two hits allowed, seven strikeouts) and Christian Ochoa (save, 2 IP, two strikeouts) in the nonconference win. Zak Kutsulis supplied the game's only offense with a two-run home run Providence.
Glenbrook South 1, Deerfield 0: Sam Kolons pitched a complete game two-hitter as the No.20 Titans returned to the rankings this week. Mike Reinisch had the game winning RBI for Glenbrook South (9-3).
Bolingbrook 10, Walther Lutheran 0: Bolingbrook got three RBI each from Scott Foltz and Chandler Piekarski as they rolled to the easy nonconference win.
Bremen 6, T.F. North 2: Noel Sanders threw a complete-game three-hitter and struck out nine to earn the win for Bremen. Brian Costello led the bats, going 2-for-3 with a double and RBI for Bremen.
De La Salle 3, Lake View 1: Ricardo Ramirez threw a complete game and struck out 13 to lead the Meteors (9-6) while the offense was led by Matt Ramirez (2-for-2, RBI) and Glenn Kurek (1-for-3, home run).
Glenbard West 3, Hinsdale Central 2: Will Simoneit had the game-winning RBI for Glenbard West (10-4).
Herscher 12, Peotone 2: Matt Webber (3-1) was the winning pitcher for Herscher (14-4) allowing four hits while striking out seven. Kyle Burton led the Herscher offense, going 4-for-4.
Hersey 7, Loyola 2: Pat Nix threw a complete game and struck out eight to pace Hersey while Sean Reszotko was 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Holy Trinity 17, St. Benedict 2: Holy Trinity (5-5, 5-0 Chicago Prep) remained undefeated in conference play behind the power of Alex Gomez and Jay Mack. Both players hit home runs in the win.
Hyde Park 13, South Shore 0: Shane McBride struck out 13 and allowed only one hit to lead Hyde Park (3-3).
Lake Forest 6, Carmel 5, 8 inn: The Scouts (3-7) were led by Brandon Moccia (3-for-3, three RBI) and Matt Lawrence (2-for-3, double, two RBI).
Lemont 10, Reavis 0: Tyler Jay (2-3) threw four innings, allowed a hit and struck out eight. Connor O'Brien was 3-for-3 with a double while Gio Schmitt and Kyle Milinowisch were each 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Maine South 2, Maine West 1: Patrick Aloisio (4-0) threw a complete game and allowed four hits while striking out five to notch the win for Maine South (8-3). Keenan Kelly was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI and Nick Mitrovich was 1-for-3 with a double and RBI to lead the Hawks' offense.
Minooka 6, Plainfield South 2: Minooka got a three-hit, 10-strikeout performance from pitcher Josh Jimenez as it picked up the key conference win. TJ London had two RBI for the Indians.
Montini 7, Chicago Christian 6: Chris Bartosz was 3-for-5 with a three-run home run and three RBI to lead Montini (7-7).
North Shore 12, Christian Liberty 2: Will Case picked up the win for Raiders.
Orr 10, Raby 2: David Edwards struck out sixteen and didn't allow a hit to lead the Spartans (2-1).
Richards 5, Eisenhower 0: Charlie Zeschke was 3-for-3 with two RBI to lead the Bulldogs.
Rich Central 14, Rich South 0: Matt Cole smacked a two-run home run and Justin Freeman threw five innings and allowed only one hit while striking out six to lead Rich Central (10-7).
Rich East 7, Bloom 2: Jason Douglas was the winning pitcher for the Rockets allowing three hits and no earned runs over six innings. Douglas also struck out five, while Herb Davis paced the Rich East offense by going 2-for-3 with a RBI and two runs.
Roosevelt 7, Sullivan 3: Javier Tellez threw a complete game and also hit a home run to lead Roosevelt (1-0).
U-High 16, Morgan Park Academy 1: Steve Glick was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI to lead U-High.
Willowbrook 7, Morton 0: Winning pitcher Zac Venchus threw five innings to lead Willowbrook (7-8).
