Mount Carmel 9, Gordon Tech 0: Jason Gasser tossed a complete-game three-hitter and also fanned five with no walks for the No.2 Caravan (13-0, 3-0 Catholic Blue). Tom Hayes (2-for-3, three-run homer), Sam Kint (3-for-4, two-run double) and Justin Sanchez (2-for-3, two RBI) paced Mount Carmel offensively.
Marist 10, Harlan 0: Mike Hearne (4-1) threw a one-hit complete game while backed up by Bryan Polak (2-for-3, RBI) and Pat Nelson (2-for-3, two stolen bases) on offense in the No.19 Marist (8-2) win.
Brother Rice 3, Fenwick 2: Garrett O’Neill worked six innings, giving up two hits in the win. O'Neil also jacked a homer for Brother Rice (9-2, 3-0 Catholic Blue).
Clemente 6, Kenwood 1: Jonathan Figueroa gave up four hits and struck out six en route to a complete-game win for Clemente (4-0).
Glenbrook North 8, Buffalo Grove 1: Brad Margolin gave up just two hits in a complete-game win. John Boibanis was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI for Glenbrook North (7-4).
Grayslake North 10, Marengo 0: Grayslake North (4-5) was led by Nick Carmody (2-for-3, two runs), Carl Russell (2-for-2, two RBI, four stolen bases) and Mitch Kwiatkowski (3-for-3, two RBI). Adam Gomski (1-0) logged the win.
Herscher 13, Westmont 3: Justin Ruckman jacked a two-run home run for Herscher (13-3).
Homewood-Flossmoor 7, Lincoln-Way West 5: Chris Michael (2-0) allowed six hits over five innings for the win. Steve Roman finished 3-for-4 and knocked in a pair of runs for the victorious Vikings (7-2).
Lemont 9, Evergreen Park 2: Kyle Millinowisch belted a home run and drove in two runs to spark the Indians' offense. Fred Schuett worked five scoreless innings allowing three hits and fanning seven to move his record to 2-0 on the spring.
Leyden 8, Glenbard West 3: The Eagles (8-2) edged the Hilltoppers behind Angel Sanchez's complete-game five-hitter. Sanchez, who improves to 4-0, notched five strikeouts with two walks. Joey Diaz added a pair of hits for Leyden in the West Suburban Conference crossover.
Lincoln-Way North 2, Joliet West 0: Alex Neufeld had the game-winning RBI for Lincoln-Way North (8-2). Jake McCabe allowed only one hit in a complete-game win.
Lisle 2, Manteno 1: Ryan VanVolkenburg (3-0) fanned five, going the distance on the mound for Lisle (10-4, 1-0 Interstate Eight). Brian Czyl was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Cliff Krause was 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored.
Loyola 5, St. Joseph 3: Winning pitcher JP Trimble yielded just one hit and had four punchouts in five innings. Fred Smart was 2-for-3 with a triple, double and two RBI for the Ramblers (4-9).
Morgan Park 8, Mather 2: Morgan Park moeved to 10-1 after Charkeal Eggelston (2-0) struck out eight in a complete-game performance on the hill. James Davison was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Marcellus Sneed was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI.
Morgan Park 7, Von Steuben 1: Rahman Williams (2-0) picked up the 'W' after going the distance from the mound. James Davison (2-for-2, RBI), Marcellus Sneed (2-for-2 two RBI) and Reginald Rogers (1-for-3, RBI) led at the plate.
Niles West 4, Lake Forest 3: Kyle Colletta (3-0) went the distance allowing an earned fun and four hits with seven strikeouts. Colletta also had a triple with two RBI, while Jason Meger went 2-for-3 and drew a walk.
Oswego East 6, Romeoville 4: Adam Kishanov starred for Oswego East (4-5, 2-1 Southwest Prairie) with a win on the mound- highlighted by seven strikeouts- and a 2-for-3 performance at the plate.
Perspectives-Calumet 15, Robeson 4: Steven Colyer had a home run, double and four RBI to carry Perspectives-Calumet past the Raiders. Julian Autrey gave up two earned runs and struck six for the victory.
Rich East 4, Kankakee 2: Nick Bates (2-0) earned the win scattering four hits in five frames. Darrius Gibert shined in relief with four strikeouts in two innings. Gilbert also ignited the Rockets' offensively with two hits, three runs and a pair of stolen bases.
Richards 14, T.F. North 4: Jake Beiriger (2-for-3, two runs) and Jordan Julian (2-for-3, two RBI) fueled the Bulldogs' victory.
Ridgewood 10, St. Patrick 7: Anthony Mroz (2-1) struck out nine Shamrocks over five innings to earn the win. Mroz also knocked in two runs, while Pete Mroz added a double and two RBI. Richie DiGrazia finished 2-for-3 and knocked in two runs for the Rebels (2-8).
Riverside-Brookfield 5, Glenbard South 3: Sophomore Will Kincanon (2-1) continued his impressive work on the varsity level with a complete-game seven hitter including seven strikeouts. CJ Duffek was 2-for-4 with a triple, double and two RBI to help the Bulldogs (7-4, 2-1) capture a key Metro Suburban Conference game.
St. Rita 15, Bishop McNamara 4: Jake Shepski had a monster game with a 5-for-5 showing, highlighted by a homer, two doubles and seven RBI for the Mustangs (7-4, 2-1 Catholic Blue). Zack Soria also went yard with a man on base and Nick Goldsmith (1-1) earned the victory.
Sandwich 9, Dwight 0: Jake Roehn turned in a complete game gem, giving up three hits with 14 strikeouts for Sandwich (5-5).
Shepard 17, Hillcrest 0: Jeremy Dryier swung a sizzling bat with three doubles and seven RBI for the Astros (3-7).
Stevenson 2, Fremd 1: Adam Walton (3-for-4) drove in the game-winning run and Nick Constantini (1-0) worked three effective innings to give the Patriots (6-3) a clutch win.
Taft 11, Schurz 1: Winning pitcher Lorenzo Aguayo gave up three hits and fanned seven in five innings for the win. Scott Krawiec went 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs, while John Gudone finished 3-for-4, with a double, RBI and run. Ray Cekus was 2-for-4 with two runs and Elias DeJesus added two hits with an RBI and scored twice.
Washington 17, Curie 0: Jesse Lopez (2-1) tossed a four-hitter and struck out seven as Washington rolled past the Condors. Adrian Luna had a big day at the plate, finishing 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles and five RBI.
