St. Laurence 11, St. Ignatius 3: Nick Altobella (1-0) spent five innings on the mound for No. 1 St. Laurence (10-0, 1-0 Catholic League Blue), finishing with six strikeouts, giving up six hits. Mike Kornacker (4-for-4, one double, one triple, three RBI) and Brad Wood (4-for-4, two doubles, three RBI, four runs scored) came up big behind the plate.

Mount Carmel 4, Fenwick 3: T.J. Laurisch (5-0) threw a complete game for No. 2 Mount Carmel; he had five strikeouts, giving up six hits and three runs. Sam Kint(1-for-3, two RBI), Jerry Houston (2-for-3, one RBI) and Dan Pappas (1-for-3, one double) helped charge the offense.

New Trier 13, Notre Dame 3: Nick Hedge gave up two hits and struck out seven in the win for No. 3 New Trier (4-0). Christian Carr was 3-for-3 behind the plate.

Providence 8, Bishop McNamara 4: Brady Wilkin (1-0) struck out five and gave up one hit to lead No. 8 Providence (7-2). Kenny King had a dobule and two RBI, while Dan Whitehead added two RBI, as well.

Nazareth 6, Lincoln Park 1: Ed Gengo (4-0) had 10 strikeouts, gave up three hits and a walk to help No. 10 Nazareth remain undefeated. Mike Stromberg (1-for-3, one triple, two RBI) and Sean Maloney (2-for-3) had notable performances, as well.

Ag. Science 11, Longwood 0: Charles Ward tossed five shutout innings on the mound and struckout four for the Cyclones (6-4-1). Keven Stonewall and Mike Cassidy each drove in two runs to power Ag. Science's offense.

Bremen 13, Hillcrest 2: Sean Grant had five strikeouts in four innings and gave up no earned runs to pick up the win for Bremen (9-5). Shamaru Warner was 2-for-3 with a homerun and two RBI.

Brother Rice 8. St. Joseph 2: Sean McGrath (2-1) was the winning pitcher for Brother Rice (6-2, 1-0 Catholic League), striking out eight, surrendering two hits in six innings pitched. Don Ohde supplied a homer, and Dom Albanese added a two-run triple.

Buffalo Grove 6, Highland Park 5: Adam Kowalski (1-0) was the winning pitcher for Buffalo Grove (4-7). Mike Diviesti was 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Jimmy Barton supplied the game-winning RBI.

Coal City 7, Joliet West 5: Austin McLucky had two strikeouts, four walks and gave up five hits in six innings pitched for Coal City (4-5). Brandon Tidaback was 3-for-3, including one triple.

De La Salle 3, St. Rita 1: Anthony Shimkus struck out six and walked one in a complete game for De La Salle (7-4, 3-0 Catholic League White). Glenn Kubek (2-for-3, one RBI) and Scott McGurn (1-for-3, one RBI) helped spark the offense.

Evergreen Park 11, Eisenhower 2: Jesse McClain91-0) was the star for Evergreen park (3-5, 1-0 South Suburban Red), with six strike outs in six innings, four hits allowed. He was also 1-for-1 behind the plate, with a two-run double.

Glenbard South 10, Lisle 0: Tony Tenuta struck out five in five innings pitched, giving up one hit and a walk for Glenbard South (5-3). Ethan Gasbarrro was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Glenbrook North 11, Prospect 0: Peter Resnik struck out seven and gave up one hit in five innings pitched for Glenbrook North (5-4). Mason Rowland was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBI, and Sing Fong was 2-for-3 with one run scored and two RBI.

Gordon Tech 6, Loyola 1: Dakota Pisarek (4-0) had a phenomenal outing for Gordon Tech (10-1, 3-0 Catholic League), finshing with 11 strikeouts, giving up two hits. He was also 2-for-3 behind the plate with a double and an RBI. Adam Vignola (2-for-3, one RBI) and Sam Colon (2-for-4) chipped in, as well.

Grayslake Central 11, Von Steuben 1: Jon Gurchak had a triple and three RBI, and Ryan Hamrick had a double and two runs scored to push Grayslake Central (5-3) to the win.

Guerin 3, Aurora Central 1:
Mike Marra (2-for-3, two RBI) and Mitch Klith (three hits) led the way for Guerin (6-4).

Herscher 12, Momence 6: Austin Mendell (2-1) struck out nine and surrendered three runs in six innings for Herscher (10-3).

Hersey 2, Stevenson 1, 11 inn.: Sean Hardiman crossed the plate to score the game-winning run for Hersey (6-0).

Homewood-Flosmoor 20, Rich South 1: Teddy Romas (1-0) had struck out seven and gave up one run in four innings to pick up the win for Homewood-Flossmoor (4-2). Chris Michaels powered the offense, going 3-for-5 with a double and four RBI.

Kankakee 8, Wilmington 4: Nick Anderson was 2-for-3 with one double, two RBI, one run scored and one stolen base, and Brennan Bryn was 2-for-3 qqith a stolen base and three runs scored.

Kenwood 9, Payton 1: Sanford Hunt gave up three hits and struck out 14 in a complete game for Kenwood (4-4).

Lake View 4, Bulls Prep 3: Josh Henry fanned five batters over six innnings of work and Justin Montalbo (2-for-3) closed the game out in the seventh to record the save for the Wildcats (3-6).

Leo 10, Bogan 0: James Fagan (1-2) struck out six, gave up two hits and held Bogan scoreless to lead Leo (6-5) to the win. He also had a triple and three runs on the offensive side. Zuriel Cook (2-for-2, three runs scored) and Phillip Byrd (2-for-4, two RBI) provided assistance, too.

Lincoln-Way West 11, Peoria Richwoods 1: Matt Sutor (4-0) had five strikeouts and gave up two hits for Lincoln-Way West (8-2). Nick Andrade was 2-for-4 with two RBI, and Luke Morgan was 2-for-4 with a double and a stolen base.

Niles North 5, Wheeling 0: James Fuller gave up three hits and struck out four in a complete game for Niles North (8-3). Dan Ammer was 2-for-2 with one homerun.

Oak Lawn 11, Shepard 3: Bob Kametas (2-0) had 11 strikeouts and gave up four hits in a complete game for Oak Lawn (5-4. 1-0 South Suburban Red). Mike Wacko was 2-for-2 including two walks, one double, one triple and four RBI.

Peotone 6, Clifton Central 1: Kyle Bataoel (3-1) was the winning pitcher for Peotone (6-3).

Reavis 6, Argo 4: Zach Mackowiak (2-1) struck out four, gave up seven hits and one walk, in a complete game for Reavis (4-6, 2-0 South Suburban Red). Mike Lally was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI, and Joe O'Hara was 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Rockford Boylan 7, Huntley 0: Bryan Engelsen was the winning pitcher for Rockford Boylan (4-6).

St. Francis 8, Montini 7: Jack Petrando (2-2) struck out four and walked one in six inningspitched for St. Francis (6-4, 1-0 South Christian Blue). Tom Ameche (2-for-2, one double, two RBI, three runs scored) and Lonnie Hicks (2-for-4, one double, one RBI) led the offensive charge.

St. Francis de Sales 7, Corliss 5:
Austin Bober (1-0) struck out nine and surrendered three earned runs in a complete game effort for St. Francis de Sales (5-4). Colton Lopez supplied a game-winning two-run homer.

Schaumburg 9, Bartlett 0: Max Paolicchi (2-0) picked up the win for Schaumburg (6-4). Jordan Grubb was 2-for-3 with one double and three RBI, and Jack Holden was 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Taft 11, Steinmetz 1: Sergio Roman led Taft (8-0) to the win with six strikeouts.

Thornwood 8, Seton 6: Decon Willingham was the winning pitcher for Thronwood, going four and two-thirds innings, giving up two runs en route to picking up the win for Thornwood. Kenny Hicks was 2-for-3 with one run scored, and Anthony Byrd had two RBI.
