Barrington 3, Niles West 0: Frank Waliczek (1-1) pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and one walk as the Broncos (5-2) blanked the Wolves (4-1). Losing pitcher Jason Meger (2-1) went the distance also, striking out nine and walking none.
Bowen 6, Westinghhouse 3: Andre King srtuck out 10 batters en route to the victory and also went 2-for-3 at the plate. Kavaughn Bonner finished 3-for-3 with two triples, a double and two runs scored for Bowen (2-5-1).
De La Salle 4, Shepard 3: Glenn Kuben homered and Anthony Shimkus cracked a double and scored a run for the Meteors (4-1). Ricardo Ramirez moved to 2-0 on the season with 6 1/3 innings of solid work including three punchouts.
Fenwick 3, Proviso East 0: Jack Forde tossed a two-hit shutout for the Friars, fanning eleven batters.
Glenbard West 6, Metea Valley 2: Hayden Carlson, Ryan Kavanaugh and Miles Purdom had two hits each to power the Hilltoppers (4-1) to a nonconference win. Winning pitcher Tyler Curtis (2-0) struck out five and allowed three hits in four innings.
Harlan 13, Perspectives-Calumet 0: Stephon Edwards (1-0) struck out seven and allowed no hits for Harlan.
Huntley 9, Marengo 2: Dan Lowry went five innings on the mound surrendering one run and striking out six to record the first victory of the season for the Red Raiders (1-2).
Lemont 3, Bolingbrook 2: Charlie Wright and Ryan Peraino each had two hits as the Indians (2-2) edged the Raiders.
Leo 8, Lindblom 7: Kaylon Rimpson had a big day offensively with three hits, two RBI and two runs scored for the Lions (4-2).
Leyden 4, Fenton 3: Mike Szopinski (1-for-3) cracked a double and drove in two runs for the Eagles (4-0).
Lincoln-Way East 5, Minooka 1: Mark Chemello (1-1) scattered eight hits and fanned six in 6 1/3 innings for the Griffins. Evan Bloomfield was 2-for-3 and drove in three runs for Lincoln-Way East.
Lincoln-Way North 10, Rich South 0: Ryan Pellack drove home three runs on a triple and a double to power the Phoenix (3-1).
Lisle 4, St. Francis 1: Jared Jayne (2-0) gave uo seven hits and struck out seven in a complete-game effort for Lisle (5-3). Ty Howell had a perfect day at the plate finishing 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI.
Lockport 5, St. Charles North 1: Eric Duzan threw five shutout innings on the hill in the victory for the Porters.
Lockport 6, Warren 3: Derek Bangert smashed a solo home run and Josh Altmann had an RBI-double for the Porters.
Maine South 9, Parkway South (Mo.) 8: Mike Virgilio struck out three over 2 2/3 innings to earn the victory. Nick Mitrovich finished 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs. Jesus Saavedra chipped in a double to knock in a run and scored twice.
Marian Catholic 12, Bradley-Bourbonnais 2: Devin Pickett (3-for-4) swiped three bags and scored three times to spark the No. 6 Spartans (2-0).
Morgan Park 15, Marshall 0: Charkeal Eggelston recorded a victory for the Mustangs (7-0) striking out nine batters to keep the Commandos in check.
Mount Carmel 9, Lane 6: Jerry Houston (2-for-3) launched a homer run and Frank Kelly (1-for-3) drove in two as the No. 4 Caravan cruised.
Nazareth 5, Gordon Tech 1: Mark Perrone (2-for-4) and Pat Houlihan (2-for-2) each brought in a run and Dominic Purpura was the victor on the mound for the Roadrunners.
New Trier 3, Harrisburg 1: Nick Hedge hurled six shutout-innings and struck out seven to record the win for the No. 10 Trevians.
Oak Park-River Forest 6, Prairie Ridge 3: Nick Kowalczuk (2-for-3) legged out a triple and drove in three runs to power the Huskies.
Oswego 1, Sandwich 0, 8 inn.: Alex Milne struck out 15 batters over seven innings of work and Kelse Gengler came on in the eighth innning to complete the combined no-hitter for the Panthers (2-3).
Rich East 6, Thornwood 2: Jason Douglas fanned 11 batters in five innnings of work to guide the Rockets (1-1).
St. Joseph 8, Hales 0: Pat Brown tossed a one-hitter and and struck out seven as the Chargers handled the Spartans.
St. Laurence 6, Stagg 5: Brandon Mallder went a perfect 4-for-4 driving in four and Kevin Smith (2-for-4, 2B) brought in two more runs to provide the offense for the No. 2 Vikings.
St. Rita 5, Richards 1: Mike Costanzo (2-0) threw six scoreless innings, allowing four hits and fanning five to pick up the win. Chad Prieto (2-for-3, two RBI) and Rick Faron (1-for-3, RBI) led the Mustangs’ offense.
Taft 27, Steinmetz 2: Mark Lemus was the winning pitcher for the Eagles (2-0), who provided ample support offensively.
T.F. South 10, Thornton 7: Cody Hutchinson went 6 1/3 innings to notch the victory for T.F. South (2-0).
Washington 5, Tinley Park 3: Augustin Guerrero starred at the plate with a 3-for-4 effort including the game-winning knock. He also tossed a complete game with five strikeouts for Washington (4-1).
Wauconda 12, Woodstock 2: Brandon Gibis (1-0) yielded one earned run and five hits and struck out out six for Wauconda (2-1). Hitting stars included Shawn Sundquist (3-for-3, three RBI) and Tony Kominsky (3-for-4, RBI).
Wheaton North 15, Dupont Manual (Ky.) 0: The Falcons rolled past Dupont Manual in Louisville as Ed Norris threw five hitless innings. Kevin Fahy helped the cause with two hits and two RBI.
