Simeon 12, Shepard 2: Terrence Robertson (2-0) pitched six innings, striking out three, giving up six hits for No. 6 Simeon (5-0). He was also 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI. Corey Ray was 3-for-3 and had a two-run homer. Marshawn Taylor was 3-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Marian Catholic 11, Joliet Central 0: Pat Schmidt was 2-for-2 with one double, an RBI and two runs scored to help lead No. 7 Marian Catholic (2-0).

St. Rita 10, Brooks 0: Mike Constanzo struck out eight in four innings, giving up one hit and zero runs for No. 8 St. Rita (1-2). Pete Cozzie was 3-for-3 with three doubles and two RBI.

Mundelein 5, Wauconda 0: Jared Mandel struck out seven in five innings to pick up the win for No. 20 Mundelein (5-0).

Maine South 11, Von Steuben 1: Patrick Aloisio had six strikeouts giving up three hits and a run in five innings pitched for No. 24 Maine South (2-0). Jesus Saazedrawas went 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI, and Bret Slager was 2-for-2 with one RBI and two runs.

Stevenson 11, Crystal Lake Central 1: Scott Irving picked up the win for No. 25 Stevenson (1-0). Jon Savarise was 2-for-3 with a double and six RBI. Zach Noloselsky was 2-for-3, as well.

Barrington 17, Grant 11: Aaron Foley had one home run, a triple and five RBI for Barrington (2-1). Justin Gitellas had five RBI.

Brother Rice 5, Payton 1: Kevin Biondic picked up the win for Brother Rice (2-1), pitching 4 1/3 innings. He struck out four, giving up one hit and zero runs.

Curie 8, Kennedy 5: Adam Sanchez was the winning pithcer for Curie (2-1). He was also 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. John Lopez was 1-for-2 and scored a run.

Fenwick 13, Jones 3: Ryan Fitzgerald was 4-for-5 with two triples, one double and an RBI, and Drew Schroeder had a grand slam to lead Fenwick (3-0).

Gordon Tech 14, Niles North 3: Dakota Pisarek (2-0) was the winning pitcher for Gordon Tech (5-0). Justin Garvey was 3-for-5 with a three-run homer, two doubles and four RBI.

King 13, Ag. Science 4: Brandon Albert and Stacey Embry were each 2-for-3 for King with four RBI apiece.

Lake Forest 7, Loyola 6: Zach Lucas was 2-for-2 with a home run and three runs for Loyola (1-0). Matt Lawrence was 2-for-3 with one home run.

Longwood 8, Morgan Park Academy 0: Mathew Young threw a complete game for Longwood (1-0). He struck out six, gave up zero runs, and was 2-for-4 with a grand slam.

Marist 4, De La Salle 3: Mike Hearne threw a complete game for Marist (3-0), striking out 10, surrendering four hits. Bryan Polak was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Morgan Park 6, Rich Central 5: Christian Lipscomb pitched a complete game, finishing with four strikeouts and three walks. He also supplied the game-winning RBI for Morgan Park (5-0). Johnny Stevenson was 2-for-2 with one home run, one triple, and three RBI. James Davidson was 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Maine East 5, Fenton 2: Cory Evans pitched a complete game, giving up four hits, striking out four. He was also 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Nazareth 8, Glenbrook North 4: Jake Bartels (1-0) gave up three hits and one run in four innings pitched for Nazareth (4-0). Dominic Purpura was 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Plainfield East 9, Joliet West 3: Tom Vachon was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI to help Plainfield East (1-2) to its first win of the year.

Taft 28, Senn 8: Ray Cekus was 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI for Taft (1-0). Alex Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with two homeruns, six RBI and three runs scored.

St. Joseph 13, Lake View 6: Pat Brown (1-0) was the winning pitcher for St. Joseph (2-0). Edgar Donato was 3-for-3 with two doubles and six RBI.

Walther Lutheran 16, Timothy Christian 10: Shaq Cockrell (1-1) struck out seven in five innings pitched to help Walther Lutheran pick up its first win of the season (1-3).
