Providence 11, Plainfield East 0: Zak Kutsulis (1-0) earned the win for the No. 1 Celtics (1-0) as he threw four innings, allowing one hit while striking out two. Kutsulis also hit a home run and drove in three RBI while teammate Ryan Koziol added a home run and two RBI, as well.

St. Laurence 10, Lake View 0: Declain McCarron threw five innings and allowed no hits for No. 3 St. Laurence (2-0) while Mike Solofra was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

Ag. Science 8, Seton 5: Prince DeMarco earned the win for Ag. Science, throwing five innings and allowing one hit and one earned run while striking out three. DeMarco also hit a double while teammate Tom Gleason drove in three RBI.

Cary-Grove 2, Schaumburg 0: Mike Dunlap had 11 strikeouts to earn the win for Cary-Grove (2-1).

Corliss 10, Steinmetz 3: Dantrell Meekin (2-0) had 13 strikeouts to lead Corliss.

De La Salle 7, Young 4: The Meteors (1-0) had a complete game from winning pitcher Pat Haynes, as Haynes struck out 11 while only walking one. Ricardo Ramirez went 2-for-3 with three RBI to lead the De La Salle offense.

Fenton 11, East Aurora 1: Rodrigo Trujillo was the winning pitcher for Fenton (1-0) while Collin Wallace was 3-for-4 with a triple. Augie Castellanos added a double and three runs.

Glenbrook North 2, Notre Dame 1: Peter Resnick threw five innings and allowed an earned run and one hit while striking out six to earn the win for the Spartans (1-0). Brad Margolin threw two innings of relief and allowed one hit while striking out three. Doug Mazewski led the Glenbrook North offense by going 2-for-2.

Illiana Christian 6, Rich Central 5: Tyler Sroczynski was 3-for-4 with a home run to lead Illiana Christian (2-1)

Libertyville 1, Deerfield 0: Nick Coutre knocked in the game-winning RBI for Libertyville (1-1) while Kyle Cibrario was the winning pitcher.

Leyden 3, Riverside-Brookfield 2:
Mike Szopinski was 4-for-4 with two RBI and a run to lead Leyden (2-0).

Maine South 3, Buffalo Grove 1: John Forsythe threw five innings and struck out nine while only allowing one hit and one earned run for Maine South.

Montini 3, Hinsdale Central 2: Ben Dobosenski (2-0) got the win for Montini (3-1) going five innings, allowing five hits, two runs and striking out four.

Nazareth 12, Reavis 10: Ed Gengo got the win for Nazareth (3-0) going two innings and allowing two hits while striking out four. Kyle Piotrowski earned the save while going 2-for-4 with a double while teammate Mike Knoesen was also 2-for-4.

Niles West 5, Lane 2: Kyle Colletta (1-0) threw five innings, striking out five and allowing four hits to guide Niles West (3-0). Eric Stojanoff was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

North Lawndale 12, Austin 8: Reuben Riggs (1-0) earned the win for North Lawndale (1-1), as he struck out eight.

Payton 12, Phillips 2: Alex Hurtado had a grand slam for the Grizzlies (2-1) while Jacob Shapiro added a home run.

Shepard 8, Harlan 7: Jake Hart had the game-winning double for Shepard (1-0).

Von Steuben 4. Loyola 2: Andres Montenegro threw three innings and allowed one earned run to earn the victory for the Panthers (3-1). Montenegro also drove in a RBI while teammate Joe Plaud was 3-for-4 with a stolen base.
