Antioch 2, Waukegan 0: Dan Arden tossed a complete-game one-hitter and struck out seven for Antioch in its season opener.

Chicago Christian 14, Westmont 10: Brody Meyer had three RBI and scored four runs with Trent Overzet adding a three-run home run for visiting Chicago Christian (5-0).

Herscher 9-9, Crete-Monee 6-2: Justin Ruckman belted a two-run homer in Game 1 and Logan Orr hit a grand slam in the nightcap for Herscher (2-0).

King 10, Hales 3: Brandon Albert went the distance giving up just a hit and striking out eight for the Jaguars (2-1-1). Sean Eddison (2-for-3, four RBI) and Kendall Harris (2-for-4, four RBI) led the offense.

Lake Zurich 9, Fremd 4: John Orlando (2-for-3) and Tanner Kiser knocked in two runs apiece for the Bears (2-0). Mike Lutz picked up the win.

Leyden 5, Palatine 1: Angel Sanchez hit a home run and knocked in a pair of runs for the Eagles (1-0).

Lincoln-Way Central 1-5, Danville 0-3: Lincoln-Way Central improved to 4-1 on the season with a sweep, led by winning pitcher Jake Kozlowski in Game 1 and Matt Filkins' game-winning RBI in Game 2.

Lincoln-Way North 9, Brother Rice 2: Ryan Pellack homered and drove in four runs against the Crusaders. Andy Ricker added a round-tripper and Mike Miller struck out six over five innings to notch the win for the Phoenix.

Lincoln-Way West 4-5, Bremen 1-4: Jake O'Leary (3-for-3) and John Hayes (2-for-3, double) paced the offense in the opener while Matt Sutor worked 4 1/3 innings to earn the victory. In Game 2, Trent Sayers was the winning pitcher with Allen Saffrahn getting a save in relief. Adam Slattery went 2-for-4 at the plate.

Maine East 20-12, Luther North 5-3: Corey Evans (3-for-4) and George Zakharia joined forces offensively with four RBI apiece for Maine East (2-0).

Morgan Park 18, Hubbard 5: Reginald Rogers went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI and Dejohn Suber added a homer and drove in two for the Mustangs. Devon Jones earned the win on the mound.

Mount Carmel 8, Boylan 4: The Caravan offense scored often behind the bats of Sam Kint (two RBI) and Frank Kelly (2-for-2, two runs. Winning pitcher T.J. Laurisch threw 5 1/3 innings of six-hit ball and also finished 2-for-3 with three RBI at the dish.

Nazareth 11-11, St. Edward 6-0: The Roadrunners' Ed Gengo notched the Game 1 win allowing four earned runs and five hits while striking out nine. Mike Stromberg was 2-for-4 with four RBI in the opener. Jake Bartels finished 3-for-5 and knocked in two runs in Game 2, while Kyle Piotrowski got the job done on the hill yielding four hits in three innings of work.

Niles North 10, Northside 6: Matt McTague had a big day at the plate with three hits, an RBI and two runs scored for the Vikings (3-0). Anthony Sanchez also swung a hot bat with three hits, two RBI and three stolen bases.

Niles West 11, Lake View 1: The Wolves' Kevin Ross finished 3-for-3 with a double and RBI.

Oak Lawn 3, St. Rita 0: Bob Kometas allowed one hit and fanned six over five innings for Oak Lawn (2-0). Alec Barnhart went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

St. Francis 15-13, IMSA 2-1: The Spartans picked up a pair of wins to open the season as Eric Bacon threw a complete-game six hitter in Game 1 and Jack Piotrowski struck out five in four innings to take Game 2. Offensively, Alex Alcanara went 2-for-3 with two runs and three stolen bases and Josh Croci chipped in two doubles and an RBI in Game 1. Croci stayed hot in the second game of the twinbill with a 2-for-4, two RBI effort.

St. Laurence 4, Richards 3: Dan Cronin (2-for-3, two RBI) knocked in the game-winning run for the Vikings in their season opener.

T.F. South 7, Joliet Central 3: Mike Broadwell went the distance allowing no earned runs and seven hits while fanning five for T.F. South. Brian Seymour hit a home run, knocked in two runs and scored twice. Kyle Ganowski added two hits, an RBI, run scored and three stolen bases.

West Chicago 12, Tinley Park 0: Pitcher Joe Loftus worked four effective frames with no hits and five punchouts.
