Ridgewood has no trouble with Elmwood Park

John Caravia and Anthony Mroz scored 10 points each as Ridgewood rolled by Elmwood Park 75-51 Friday night in the Metro Suburban.

Ridgwood led 15-13 after one quarter and used an 23-8 second quarter to open a 38-31 edge at halftime.

In the third quarter, the Rebels held the Tigers without a point until Anthony Talia made a free throw with just over four minutes

remaining. During that span, Ridgewood scored 14, making the score 52-22.

The Rebels enjoyed their largest lead of the game at 34 at the end of the third, leading 62-28 entering the final quarter. The Rebels held Elmwood Park to seven third quarter points, with five coming from the foul line.

Zach Seinkiewicz chipped in nine points for Ridgewood (14-3, 4-1) and Andy Mazurczak added seven points and four rebounds.

"He plays hard every game," Rebels coach Chris Mroz said of Caravia. "Both on offense and on defense, he gets after it. He's just a great teammate."

Julian Molina led all scorers with 13 points and Alec Gomez chipped in 11 points for Elmwood Park.

"It was a nice win for us," said Chris Mroz "It's always nice to get a conference win against a rival."
