CROWN POINT — Former Crown Point defensive coordinator Kevin Enright was officially approved as the school’s new head football coach during a special school board meeting Friday night.
“I’m real excited,’’ Enright said. “It’s a pleasure to be in this position at this point. I have tremendous respect for Crown Point. To have the opportunity to come back — especially in this role — is something that I’m extremely thrilled, yet humbled for. I’m truly going to relish the opportunity and work real hard. We’re going to take this thing to the next level.’’
A familiar face, Enright spent eight years as Crown Point’s defensive coordinator under former coach Chip Pettit, who was named the new principal at the school last month.
The 42-year-old Enright, spent the past three seasons as the defensive coordinator at Homewood-Flossmoor High School under head coach Craig Buzea, who previously was head coach at both Portage and Michigan City.
