Football: Some top players not ready to sign
Updated: February 1, 2012 3:07PM
Though many of the area’s top football players were finalizing their college plans on Wednesday by signing letters of intent, some stars are playing the waiting game.
Simeon will hold a signing day ceremony at the school at 7 p.m. Friday when several Wolverines will announce their college choices. The biggest names in the group are four-star offensive lineman Jordan Diamond and a couple of three-star prospects, quarterback Robert Gregory and linebacker Shaquille Joyner. Gregory originally committed to Arkansas, but later reopened his recruiting.
Crete-Monee defensive back Anthony Standifer also restarted his college search after initially comitting to Michigan. Standifer said on Twitter that he was not signing Wednesday and that he is planning to visit Pittsburgh and Vanderbilt in February.
