CLASS 4A REGIONAL QUARTERFINALS

ST. CHARLES EAST

St. Charles East 5, Hoffman Estates 0: Kyle Manske had seven strikeouts and gave up six hits in a complete game for St. Charles East (24-10). Nick Erickson was 2-for-4 with two RBI and John Homolik added three RBI to help spur the offense.

MAINE WEST

Maine South 10, Lincoln Park 0: John Forsythe (6-2) had seven strikeouts and gave up one hit in three innings of work for No. 5 Maine South (30-5). Keenan Kelly (3-for-3, two doubles, three RBI, two runs scored) and Rocky Saavedra (2-for-2, two RBI, one run scored) carried the load on offense.

NILES WEST

Niles West 3, Maine East 0: Jason Meger (5-5) had eight strikeouts, three walks in a shutout for Niles West (25-10). He was also 2-for-3 with one run scored.

MUNDELEIN

Mundelein 10, Zion-Benton 0: Matt Langlie struck out five in four innings pitched for No. 4 Mundelein. Jordan Wiegold was 2-for-3 with one double.

STEVENSON

Glenbrook North 10, Buffalo Grove 1: Brad Margolin had two strikeouts and gave up six hits in a complete game for Glenbrook North (25-11). Brad Ruchman (3-for-4, one run scored), Jason Scholl (2-for-2, two runs scored, two RBI) and T.J. Pedeschi (2-for-4, two runs scored, two RBI) sparked the offense.

WARREN

Highland Park 6, Warren 0: Jake Rubin struck out four and gave up two hits in a complete game for Highland Park (17-19).

REAVIS

Morton 5, De La Salle 1: Joe Kadela had six strikeouts, giving up five hits and one run in a complete game for Morton. Sergio Villalobos was 3-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI.

MOUNT CARMEL

Mount Carmel 15, Proviso West 1, 5 inn.: Jeremy Kravitz had seven strikeouts and gave up one hit in four innings pitched for No. 6 Mount Carmel (30-5). Justin Gonzalez (1-for-3, three RBI), Tom Hayes (2-for-3, one home run, one double, three RBI) and Tyler Laurisch (2-for-2, one home run) led the offense.

ST. RITA

St. Rita 11, Curie 1: Mike Bostanzo (7-2) picked up the win for St. Rita (23-12). Anthony Ray (2-for-2, one triple, three RBI) and Jake Shepski (2-for-2, one RBI) helped push the Mustangs offense.

HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOOR

Homewood-Flossmoor 6, Shepard 5: Nick Brandt homered and Pat Sheehan supplied the game-winning RBI for the Vikings.

CLASS 3A REGIONAL SEMIFINALS

NAZARETH

Nazareth 11, Westinghouse 0: Pete Minella had 10 strikeouts and gave up one hit in five innings pitched for Nazareth (26-9). Tim Del Porto added two RBI.

LAKE VIEW

Glenbard South 16, Noble Street 1: Doren Blake (3-for-3, one double, two home runs, four RBI) and Justin Joseph (2-for-3, three RBI) led Glenbard South (25-10) in the rout.

ST. JOSEPH

St. Joseph 22, Phoenix 0: Trayvon Johnson had 10 strikeouts and gave up one hit in four innings pitched to earn the win for St. Joseph. Brian Powers was 2-for-4 with four RBI.

DEERFIELD

St. Viator 20, Northtown 0: Tim McElroy tossed a no-hitter through five innings for St. Viator (20-15), finishing with 12 strikeouts.

SIMEON

Simeon 19, Phillips 0: Blake Hickman hit a grand slam for the No. 16 Wolverines in the rout.

KENWOOD

Kenwood 22, Bowen 1: Rob Cook had five strikeouts and one walk in a complete game for Kenwood.

OAK FOREST

Oak Forest 3, Rich South 1: Matt Zubek was the winning pitcher and George Jester was 2-for-3 with one home run to lead No. 11 Oak Forest (26-6).

CRETE-MONEE

Lemont 11, Rich East 0: Jeff Woresch was 2-for-3 with one double and two RBI, and Mark Tokarski had one home run, as Lemont cruised.

CLASS 2A SECTIONAL SEMIFINALS

COAL CITY

Herscher 7, Aurora Christian 4: Matt Webber was the winning pitcher and Jordan Ruckman had two hits in the win for Herscher.
