Providence 5, Brother Rice 1: Zak Kutsulis (5-2) had seven strikeouts and gave up one earned run in a complete game for No. 4 Providence (5-2). Ryan Koziol added two RBI.
Marist 1, St. Viator 0, 10 inn.: Mike Hearne went nine innings, finishing with five strikeouts and giving up eight hits to pick up the win for No.7 Marist (19-5, 7-0 East Suburban Catholic). Cody Bohanek was clutch, going 2-for-5, supplying the game-winning RBI and earning the save.
Maine South 4, Maine East 1: Rocky Saavedra (5-0) was the winning pitcher with one strikeout, and giving up one hit, in one and two-thirds innings pitched for No.11 Maine South (18-3, 8-0 Central Suburban South). Jimmy Frankos (2-for-4, one double, one RBI) and Nick Calabrese (2-for-4, one RBI) helped key the offense.
Barrington 1, Palatine 0: Frank Waliczek pitched a complete game, finishing with 12 strikeouts, surrendering two hits. Aaron Foley hit a homer to provide Barrington's lone run.
Buffalo Grove 8, Rolling Meadows 4: Richie Zringibl was 4-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI and two runs scored to spark Buffalo Grove.
Burlington Central 3, Huntley 2: Zach Ranny (6-0) had five strikeouts, and gave up four hits and two earned runs in seven innings pitched for Burlington Central.
Glenbrook North 5, Evanston 1: Peter Resnick (6-1) had 10 strikeouts and three hits in a complete game for Glenbrook North (18-7). Jason Scholl (1-for-3, two RBI) and TJ Tedeschi (1-for-3, two-run double) provided much of the offense.
Glenbrook South 4, Maine West 2: Kyle Pauly (4-2) struck out 12 in six and two-thirds innings pitched.
Grayslake Central 14, Round Lake 2: Jon Gurchak powered Grayslake Central with a grand slam, a three-run homer and 10 RBI.
Guerin 3, Immaculate Conception 2: Mitch Klich surrendered six hits and gave up two runs in a complete game for Guerin.
Hersey 5, Elk Grove 2: Mike Danielak (6-1) had 11 strikeouts and gave up three hits in a complete game for Hersey (17-4, 7-3 Mid-Suburban East). Dave Milligan had two RBI.
Loyola 3, Mount Carmel 1: Danny Rafferty struck out four and gave up four hits in a complete game for Loyola (10-15, 6-4 Catholic Blue). Matt Fallon (3-for-4) and Mochael Cervagius (2-for-2, one RBI) led the offense.
Niles North 13, Niles West 2: Jesse Green gave up four hits and one earned run in a complete game for Niles North. Dan Schoenberg (3-for-4, one double, six RBI) powered the offense.
Schurz 17, Steinmetz 7: James Bach gave up two earned runs in five innings pitched to nab the win for Schurz. Francisco Garcia had three hits and five RBI.
St. Charles East 6, Streamwood 0: Nick Huskisson earned the win for St. Charles East.
St. Ignatius 2, Gordon Tech 1: Rob Lock had five strikeouts in a complete game for St. Ignatius (6-13, 3-8 Catholic White), giving up one hit and one run. Jared Deveau was 3-for-3 with one double, one triple, one RBI and one run scored.
Yorkville 6, DeKalb 4: Tom Kinney was 3-for-3 to lead Yorkville.
