Andrew 5, Richards 0: Pitcher Kevin Walsh (3-0) went six innings and fanned four. Steve Carrabotta was 2-for-4 with two RBI and Pat Elget was 3-for-4 with a run scored for No.18 Andrew (12-4).
Antioch 5-4, Westosha Central (Wis.) 3-3: Dan Arden scattered six hits and struck out 10 in a complete game victory for Antioch (9-3) in the opener of the twinbill.
Cary-Grove 9, Grayslake North 6: Matt DiCicco had two hits and two RBI and Mike Nelson chipped in a hit and drove in two runs for Cary-Grove (10-6).
Glenbrook South 14, Buffalo Grove 5: Max Cohen finished 4-for-5 with three RBI for Glenbrook South (11-3).
Homewood-Flossmoor 6, Evergreen Park 2: David Stern had three singles, a double and knocked in a run for the Vikings (10-3). Ben Kirchler chipped in with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate and two stolen bases along with three runs scored.
Huntley 10, Woodstock North 2: Winning pitcher Jake Perkins yielded just one hit and fanned seven in five effective innings for the Red Raiders (10-5).
Hyde Park 5, Vocational 4, 9 inn.: Erik Payton had the game-winning knock for the Indians (5-3, 3-0 Carlton Fisk).
Lake Forest 10, Glenbrook North 9: Peter Gruenes had a perfect day at the plate finishing 4-for-4 with a double and four RBI. Zach Lucas cracked a home run and had two RBI lending offensive support for the Scouts (5-8).
Lake Park 8, Fremd 4: John Schram went 3-for-4 with an RBI and scored once for the Lancers (8-6).
Marist 10-10, St. Patrick 0-2: Pitcher Jon Mckevitt worked six innings of one-hit baseball to earn the win in Game 1 for No. 10 Marist. Bryann Polak was 2-for-3 with three RBI and Marty Mehalek was 2-for-2 with four runs scored. Cody Bohanek tossed a complete game in the second contest, giving up three hits while striking out eight. Ryan Meyer was 3-for-4 with a double, triple and five RBI.
Mount Carmel 11, Lincoln-Way East 1: Jerry Houston powered the No.1 Caravan (16-0) with a grand slam and three hits overall. Tom Hayes also swung a potent bat going 3-for-3 with two RBI.
Mundelein 4, Rolling Meadows 1: Bryan Weiner (3-0) earned the complete game victory with five strikeouts, while also going 2-for-3 with two walks. Ryan Borucki smacked a triple for the Mustangs.
North Shore 4, U-High 3, 9 inn.: Chris McCarren served as the hero with a game-winning RBI to keep North Shore unbeaten at 5-0.
Rich Central 8, Oak Lawn 2: Pitcher Lucas Sneed earned the win for Rich Central (13-7).
St. Joseph 6, Guerin 3: The Chargers (16-3) were led by winning pitcher Trayvon Johnson (3-1), who threw six innings of four-hit ball and fanned 14 hitters. Stephen Scatassa went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI at the dish.
St. Rita 11, South Aiken (S.C.) 2: Pitcher Jake Shepski (3-1) gave up no earned runs on five hits in four innings on the mound. Chad Prieto was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI while Rick Faron was 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in the St. Rita (11-5) win.
Stevenson 6, Deerfield 4: Pitcher Nick Costantini (2-0) went 2 2/3 innings to log the win. Will Bourbon was 2-for-4 at the plate, knocking in three runs for Stevenson (9-5).
Taft 17, Hubbard 1: Ray Cekus blasted a grand slam and Alex Rodriguez was 2-for-2 with two homers and a total of seven RBI for Taft (18-0).
Vernon Hills 18, Elmwood Park 6: Austin Hagen was 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and three RBI. Tyler Feece went 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored.
Walter Lutheran 2, Gordon Tech 1: Josh Galvin (2-1) went the distance on the mound, striking out 10 along the way and hitting a homer while at the plate in the Walter Lutheran (8-9) win.
