Winkelman ran show for St. Charles North

There were several girls on the St. Charles North soccer team this season that deserved extra attention from opponents. But, "there was that one girl in the middle that ran the whole show," one area coach said. She was Caitlin Winkelman, the 2008 Courier News Girls Soccer Player of the Year

A little yellow band of cloth. The letter "C" in the middle. It signifies the Waubonsie Valley captains on a soccer field. For 25 games this season, one of those bands wrapped around the right arm of Bri Rodriguez.

Downers South's Jacobson stands alone

When you look at Barry Jacobson’s coaching resume, it’s safe to say there are few that will ever match it. The Downers South coach is one of only a handful of high school girls soccer coaches in the country to win more than 400 career games.
